INVITATION TO ATTEND

Rotary District 9700 Conference, Wagga Wagga
01 - 03 April 2005

I invite Rotarians, their partners, family and friends of Rotary to join us in Celebrating Rotary at the District 9700 Conference to be held at Wagga Wagga

Rotarians world wide will be Celebrating the Centennial of the first service organization in 2005; the District will be placing a Time Capsule in the gardens with something from each District Club and Rotary International from our first one hundred years, to be interred for the next one hundred years. The same year the Wagga Wagga Rotary Club, the District’s premier Club, celebrates the attainment of seventy five years of Service.

Rotary International for the year 2004-05 has undertaken a number of Tasks including:

  • Concern for Health – addressing health concerns in their communities around the world.

  • Family of Rotary – encourage and foster the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.

  • Literacy – promote universal literacy and educational opportunities for all.

  • Water Resources – create awareness in the development and conservation of water resources.

Clubs of District 9700 have Celebrated Rotary by Service Internationally, in the Community, within the Club, promoting Youth activities and by promoting the ideals of business ethics through our vocations.

The Conference will have a varied program of speakers both inspirational and professional in business, Rotary projects and involvement with the community to showcase achievements of Rotary, individuals and groups in undertaking improvement in worldwide standards.

The main venue will be at the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre, a centre designed to enhance the performance of our presenters. The Saturday night will be a night of Celebration at our Birthday Dinner Dance to be held at the Kyeamba Smith Hall, a large function centre that has been refurbished partially as a Centennial Project by the Wagga combined Rotary Clubs.

I urge The Family of Rotary to Celebrate this special year, a milestone in Service by registering and attending the accumulation of our Centennial Year at the District Conference.

Regards
